Halcyon Mawella is our place to rest the mind and experience Sri Lanka’s bounty.
Our surroundings are important to us. Any initiatives we can start to protect the environment is a way of giving back to the local community. Keeping the beach clean is top of our list as is the minimal use of plastic.
Behind the pandanus lies a stretch of sand and the Indian Ocean.
Comfort right on the beach.
Lovely hotel on a beautiful and quiet beach, team really friendly and amazing service, thoroughly recommend
Exclusive hotel on an indescribably beautiful beach! Very well maintained and high quality, inviting and cozy. The BBQ evenings with live music are an absolute highlight!
Nice stay. Was part of our honeymoon holiday. Had lovely dinner on the beach. Staff friendly. Quiet beach with fisherman’s boats. Great to see mangroves planted to protect beach but does result in rooms not really having a sea view. The sustainability/ eco friendly nature of the hotel was great to see eg glass water bottles, reusable straws, minimal plastic usage and repurposed furniture. A small improvement would be to have coffee in the room but the free mini bar was a great positive.
Had the best experience at Halcyon. Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff that look after you so well. Great location with beach in front and surfing near by. Would recommend to everyone!!
We had a brilliant stay - our favourite whilst we were in Sri Lanka. The decor was lovely throughout and so close to the ocean - it was lovely being able to hear the waves from our room and the added bonus you could safely swim in the bay. The food was exceptional and the menu changed daily which was great. The staff were lovely and very efficient. We would 100% recommend and only wish we had booked for longer.
Rooms are tastefully decorated, right in front of the beach. Peaceful and great pool. The food is also very good.Only thing to improve is the level of training of restaurant staff. Some of your employees seem to be very lost and can’t answer basic questions. Otherwise place and I highly recommend it .
Didn't stay, but came for a delicious lunch. An idyllic spot on one of Sri Lanka's finest beaches. Worth a trip in tuktuk for a meal, and looking at the rest of the place, I have no doubt the rooms are gorgeous too. Not overpriced, which can be the case with places with a semi-captive hotel resident.
